15. Poetry by Katerina Bruno
moths flutter about & other poems
moths flutter about
the glowing saucer
a silent congregation in the moonlight
the old pond
grey alien jumps in
the sound of water
Jesus has returned
in a time travel machine
the world dismisses
Jesus has returned
in a flying saucer
sound of empty souls
Jesus descends
long, gray ray gun
in long, gray hands

Katerina Bruno’s work can be read in various publications, most of which you’ve probably never heard of and she likes it that way — being a published poet of very little renown. However, one of her scifaiku from the debut issue of The Starlight SciFaiku Review was selected for the 2022 SFPA Dwarf Stars Award anthology. A library that is open only at night, serves coffee and has a glass roof for viewing the stars, would be her paradise.
