The T. O’Conor Sloane Jr. Prize in Photography

The T. O’Conor Sloane Jr. Prize in Photography honors photographer T. O’Conor Sloane Jr., an original member of the Photo-Secession movement who gained international acclaim for his gum bichromate work. Sloane’s photograph of Thomas A. Edison is held by the National Portrait Gallery of The Smithsonian and his photograph “Cloud Study,” is in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This prize will be awarded for exceptional works of photography in any genre. Winning works will be permanently displayed on this website in a gallery dedicated to this prize. Eventually, this prize will award an eBook and print publishing contract with Starship Sloane Publishing.

As well, this prize may possibly serve as the springboard for a variety of photography-related projects.

The recipient of this prize is decided by the editor of Starship Sloane Publishing. If the decision is made to open the prize to submissions, an announcement will be made.
