The T. O’Conor Sloane III Prizes in the Arts and Literature honors T. O’Conor Sloane III of Doubleday, who was the editor of Salvador Dali’s Diary of a Genius and books by Isaac Asimov, Jacques Cousteau, Thor Heyerdahl, Marc Chagall, Marcel Marceau, Edward Steichen and many other luminaries during his distinguished career in publishing.
Sloane was also a director of the Catholic Poetry Society of America, headquartered in New York City. Here’s a link to the Wiki article.
These prizes will be awarded to exceptional works in any genre of art, poetry, flash fiction, short story, and novelette. Eventually, these prizes will expand to include novella and book manuscript categories with the award of an eBook publishing contract for the former and an eBook and print publishing contract awarded for the latter by Starship Sloane Publishing.
As well, these prizes may possibly serve as the springboard for anthologies, collections, poetry chapbooks, and related projects.
The recipients of these prizes are decided by the editor of Starship Sloane Publishing. If the decision is made to open these prizes to submissions, an announcement will be made.
