19. Poetry by Joshua St. Claire

Art by Paulo Sayeg | Noite

September Sunrise

September sunrise
a passenger pigeon chick hatches
from a test tube

Phobos waning
the scent of evening primroses
fills Sagan Crater

toddling and unsure
he takes his first steps
cybernetic exoskeleton

a young girl playing
in the fairy ferns
Venusian aerostat

exchange student
she teaches us how to sign
with our tentacles

he rubs his eyes
after the long night
sleeper ship

sharing
some imported hot chocolate
howling winds of Titan
