Pg. 13 — Origin Story

Having done my research, and quite extensively at that, I feel entirely confident in stating that The Flying Saucer Poetry Review is, to the very best of my knowledge, the first-ever literary journal devoted exclusively to poetry and art about the UFO phenomenon. As such, the work of the contributors herein is imbued with a little extra measure of distinction.

The poems that follow, all previously unpublished as is the requirement for all of our literary journals, appear in the order in which they were received. When going through submissions, I make a determination of acceptance or declination before looking at the next piece. Each piece gets my full attention. This allows for a certain clarity of purpose but more importantly, each piece is negotiated in a full reception of itself — with no signal interference from other submissions.

You will find a variety of UFO poetry in this issue; from the fabulist to the fantastic, the humorous, the hauntingly serious, the fictional and the nonfictional, even the unsettlingly erotic (a style I’d really not considered until I read the work and recognized its novelty). So, there’s something for everyone in this literary journal and it hits on all cylinders! It is magnificent work. I think that it will leave you feeling creatively charged, comprehensively intrigued, and cognitively satisfied.

I genuinely hope that you, dear reader, thoroughly enjoy this, the first issue of The Flying Saucer Poetry Review and are further inspired to tangibly manifest your interest in the UFO phenomenon through creative expression. The literary and artistic talent on display in the pages that follow is extraordinary, simply out of this world! I think you’ll agree.

Yours truly,

Justin
